A head constable was injured on Friday after his service rifle went off accidentally while he was cleaning it in Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar.
Officials said that the head constable, who was posted at the residence of a former MLA, sustained injuries to his leg due to the accidental discharge, The injured policeman was immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile police has taken cognizance of the incident .
