Sinagar, June 19: In response to the ongoing heatwave, Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Thursday announced a 10-day summer vacation for all private and government schools in the Kashmir division, starting from July 1.
Itoo said the summer break will be observed from July 1 to July 10. She added that the government will reassess the weather situation after the break to decide whether an extension is necessary.
“We will evaluate the weather after July 10 and make a decision on extending the vacation if required,” she said.
Additionally, the minister announced revised school timings effective from Saturday. Schools located within Srinagar Municipal limits will now operate from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, while those outside the municipal limits will function from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM. (KNO)
