June 20: Air India on Friday announced the cancellation of multiple domestic and international flights due to intensified aircraft maintenance checks, adverse weather conditions, and airspace restrictions.
In an official statement, the airline listed the affected flights, which include international routes such as AI906 (Dubai to Chennai), AI308 (Delhi to Melbourne), AI309 (Melbourne to Delhi), and AI2204 (Dubai to Hyderabad). Domestic services impacted include AI874 (Pune to Delhi), AI456 (Ahmedabad to Delhi), AI2872 (Hyderabad to Mumbai), and AI571 (Chennai to Mumbai).
The airline has assured affected passengers that they are being offered either full refunds or complimentary rescheduling. Ground staff are working to provide alternative travel arrangements to ensure passengers reach their destinations as soon as possible.
“We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused,” the airline said in its statement, urging travelers to check the latest updates on flight statuses through Air India’s website or customer service lines.
The airline also noted that due to ongoing enhanced safety checks, weather disruptions, and restricted airspace, more delays or cancellations may occur. Passengers will be informed accordingly.
This comes a day after Air India announced a temporary reduction in weekly international flights and the suspension of three routes between June 21 and July 15, 2025.
