Srinagar, Jul 17: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said that India faced frequent terror attacks during the Congress-led governments, but under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the country has become significantly more secure.
Speaking at an event in Jaipur, Shah highlighted the Modi government’s firm stance on terrorism. “After the Uri attack, a surgical strike was carried out. Following the Pulwama incident, an airstrike was launched. Most recently, after the Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor was conducted to neutralize terrorists even within Pakistan,” he said.
Shah emphasized that the Modi-led administration has sent a clear and powerful message to the world: India will not tolerate threats to its citizens, borders, or armed forces, and any such actions will invite strong retaliation.
He reiterated that Operation Sindoor, carried out in response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack, demonstrated India’s resolve. “PM Modi has shown the world that anyone who challenges India’s sovereignty will have to face the consequences,” he added.
Shah also spoke about the broader achievements of the Modi government, stating that India has emerged as the fourth-largest economy and successfully lifted 22 crore citizens out of poverty.
He further mentioned the government’s efforts to strengthen cooperatives, ensuring that welfare schemes from both central and state governments directly benefit the intended recipients. (KNO)
