Jammu: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen, on Thursday stated that four militants are suspected to be trapped in an ongoing encounter in Udhampur district.
Speaking to reporters, the IGP said, that contact with the militants was established around 8:30 am today, but adverse weather conditions are hampering operations.
“We expect the situation to become clearer as the weather improves. Our assessment suggests that four terrorists are currently hiding at the site,” he said.
Earlier, the Army had confirmed that an encounter broke out between militants and security forces in the Bihali area of Basantgarh, following specific intelligence inputs.
