Srinagar, Jul 02: Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Wednesday emphasized that all officers are actively deployed on the ground to guarantee the smooth and secure conduct of the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.
As reported by the KNO, the DGP reviewed the security arrangements along the vital Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, focusing on ensuring foolproof safety for the pilgrims.
During his visit to the Nayvug Tunnel in Qazigund, Prabhat assessed the security setup and interacted with the deployed police personnel. He also met with several pilgrims to take stock of the measures in place and hear their feedback.
Speaking to reporters, DGP Prabhat reiterated that officers are vigilantly positioned across the Yatra route, working to maintain peace and ensure the safe passage of devotees.
His visit coincides with the arrival of the first batch of 5,485 pilgrims in the Valley, amid heightened security arrangements.
The 38-day pilgrimage is being carried out via two key routes—Baltal in Ganderbal and Pahalgam in Anantnag—under a robust, multi-layered security plan.
