Chennai, July 11: National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval strongly criticized the international media for what he termed as biased reporting on India’s recent military operation ‘Operation Sindoor’ against Pakistan.
While addressing the 62nd convocation at IIT Madras, Doval challenged the foreign press to show even a single image of damage to any Indian infrastructure. “They claimed a lot, but where is the evidence? Not even a broken glass pane on our side,” he said, referring to the claims made following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which killed 26 civilians.
Highlighting the precision of the Indian response, he noted that India targeted nine terrorist locations deep inside Pakistani territory between May 7 and May 10. “All targets were based on concrete intelligence. Not a single strike went astray. No civilian or unintended site was hit,” Doval said.
He further pointed out that while foreign outlets circulated satellite images of 13 Pakistani air bases before and after May 10—including Sargodha, Rahim Yar Khan, and Chaklala—no similar evidence was available to suggest any damage on the Indian side.
Doval praised the use of indigenous weaponry, including the BrahMos missile, in the operation and emphasized India’s growing self-reliance in defense technology. “We are proud of how much of our own systems we used,” he said.
He also spoke about India’s achievement in developing an entirely indigenous 5G technology system in collaboration with IIT Madras and private firms. “Unlike China, which took 12 years and spent $300 billion, we did it with far fewer resources. Today, India’s 5G has zero foreign components,” he asserted. The operation, Doval confirmed, concluded on May 10 after mutual understanding was reached between both countries to halt further military escalation.
