Srinagar, Jul 02: In response to the ongoing heatwave, the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department has extended the summer break for colleges in the Kashmir Division and winter zone areas of Jammu Division until July 5.
As per an official order, the department stated, “In partial modification of earlier orders, it is hereby ordered that summer vacations in all Government Degree Colleges of Kashmir Division and the winter zone of Jammu Division shall continue up to July 05, 2025.”
Previously, the department had announced summer vacations starting from July 15, but the decision was revised due to soaring temperatures. The affected colleges, which were initially set to reopen on July 3, will now remain closed for an additional two days under the revised schedule.
